New stores, restaurants are coming to Stanislaus County. Check out 10 businesses

Stanislaus County’s business scene is heating up.

With Dave’s Hot Chicken opening in Turlock and new shops debuting at Riverbank’s Crossroads West shopping center, more businesses are on the way.

From new restaurants to big-name retailers, several storefronts are gearing up to welcome customers.

Here’s a look at what’s set to open in Stanislaus County, as of Wednesday, Nov. 5:

Where is new Boot Barn opening in Stanislaus County?

A new Boot Barn store is coming to Stanislaus County.

The retailer, known for western footwear, clothing and accessories, will join two existing locations in the county — one at 3214 Countryside Drive in Turlock and another at 2225 Plaza Parkway, Suite O, in Modesto.

The upcoming store will occupy the former Staples space at 2347 Claribel Road in Riverbank’s Crossroads shopping center. The storefront will be between Petco and Kohl’s.

While Boot Barn had yet to announce an official opening date as of Wednesday, Nov. 4, the company is already hiring for the Riverbank location. Job listings were available on its website.

Is a new Olive Garden coming to Stanislaus County?

Riverbank’s Crossroads West shopping center is adding new dining options.

Across the street from the upcoming Boot Barn, the center has signed a lease with popular restaurant chain Olive Garden.

The new location will be on the Claribel Road side of the shopping center, near Raising Cane’s, according to a site plan from commercial real estate firm John Cumbelich & Associates.

It will be the third Olive Garden in Stanislaus County, joining existing locations at 2200 Plaza Parkway in Modesto and 2749 Countryside Drive in Turlock.

Though an official opening date had not been announced as of Wednesday, construction was already underway at the Claribel Road site.

When will new sushi restaurant open in Modesto mall?

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is set to open at Vintage Faire Mall, 3401 Dale Road in Modesto.

The Japanese restaurant chain is known for its fun, tech-forward dining experience.

Diners can select from a wide variety of dishes traveling along a conveyor belt or order meals directly from a touchscreen.

In addition to sushi, the menu features ramen, tempura and desserts.

Kura offers fresh ingredients and seasonal menu items, along with a rewards program.

The restaurant includes a Bikkura Pon prize system, which lets diners earn rewards for every 15 plates placed in the disposal slot at their table, according to a news release.

The new sushi spot was slated to open on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Is self-serve Korean ramen shop coming to Modesto mall?

K-Ramyun will open in Vintage Faire Mall, 3401 Dale Road, Modesto.

The self-serve Korean ramen shop will occupy the empty space near Lids, across from Zales on the mall’s second level.

At K-Ramyun, customers can build their own instant noodle bowls, choosing from a variety of noodles with more than 100 flavors available.

Once the ramen base is selected, diners can add toppings ranging from steamed eggs and fish cakes to cheese and vegetables.

According to the mall’s marketing manager, K-Ramyun is expected to open before the end of 2025.

Where is second We Donuts shop opening in Stanislaus County?

We Donuts, a local favorite known for its 24/7 service and wide variety of doughnuts, is opening a second location in Stanislaus County.

The new doughnut shop will take over the former Baker Boy Donuts space at 2043 Tully Road in Modesto, which closed in early October.

Due to health issues, the shop was sold and the new owners will close a couple of weeks for remodeling,” the doughnut shop’s previous owner wrote on Instagram. “The new owners are good people. They come in a short notice and took over because of the situation we are in.”

We Donuts has deep local roots, opening its first locatoin at 2207 Scenic Drive in Modesto in the early 1970s.

“We eagerly anticipate sharing even more irresistible donuts, freshly brewed coffee and warm hospitality with you,” the new owners said in a Facebook announcement.

An official opening date had not yet been announced as of Wednesdya.

When will Stanislaus County get a Chick-fil-A?

Chick-fil-A is seeking approval to build a new restaurant in Turlock at 2630 West Tuolumne Road, according to Theis Realty Group.

The proposed 2.46-acre site along the Highway 99 frontage would feature a 4,977-square-foot restaurant with a two-lane drive-thru “designed to optimize traffic flow and ensure efficient access to the site,” Theis Realty said.

On-site improvements along West Tuolumne Road would include parking, paving, landscaping and lighting.

Off-site work would add a curb, gutter, sidewalks and street trees, while Countryside Drive would see additional landscaping. Some curbs, gutters and sidewalks are already in place, the real estate group said in an Instagram post.

As of Tuesday, Nov. 4, no official opening date had been announced.

Where will new Hobby Lobby open in Stanislaus County?

A new Hobby Lobby is coming to Riverbank, marking the craft store chain’s third location in Stanislaus County.

The other two stores are at 2801 McHenry Ave. in Modesto and 3801 Countryside Drive in Turlock.

Hobby Lobby will open next to the new TJ Maxx at Riverbank’s Crossroads West shopping center, according to a site plan from commercial real estate firm John Cumbelich & Associates.

While an official opening date had not yet been announced, construction was underway as of Wednesday.

Is Stanislaus County getting a second Jersey Mike’s location?

Jersey Mike’s Subs is also set to open at Riverbank’s Crossroads West shopping center, joining the chain’s only other Stanislaus County location, which opened in Modesto in December.

According to site plans, the new sandwich shop will be on the Oakdale Road side of the shopping center.

Jersey Mike’s is known for hot and cold sub sandwiches made with freshly baked bread available in white, wheat or rosemary Parmesan options. Udi’s gluten-free bread is also available.

An opening date had yet to be announced as of Wenesday, but the Riverbank location was listed as “in development” on the company’s website.

Will Stanislaus County get another Skechers shoe store?

Stanislaus County is set to welcome a third Skechers store.

The footwear brand, known for its wide range of comfortable and affordable casual, athletic and performance shoes, already operates two locations in the county.

One is located at 3501 McHenry Ave., Suite K2, in Modesto, and another is located at 2729 Countryside Drive, Suite 1A, in Turlock.

The new Skechers store will open in Riverbank’s Crossroads West shopping center, next to the planned Hobby Lobby on Claribel Road, according to a site plan from commercial real estate firm John Cumbelich & Associates.

An official opening date had not yet been announced.

What is new 88 Bao Bao restaurant coming to Riverbank?

A new 88 Bao Bao restaurant is set to open in Riverbank’s Crossroads West development.

The fast-casual Chinese restaurant chain, known for its authentic dumplings and noodles, has several locations across the Bay Area and other parts of California.

According to a site plan from commercial real estate firm John Cumbelich & Associates, the Riverbank location will be near the new TJ Maxx and HomeGoods stores.

As of Wednesday, the restaurant was still under construction, and an opening date had yet to be announced.
