New restaurants coming to Riverbank’s Crossroads West and downtown area

One chain has been added to the growing list of restaurants at Riverbank’s Crossroads West shopping center, and another restaurant is moving into the city’s downtown area.

Jersey Mike’s Subs, with over 380 locations in California, is coming to Crossroads West. It will be between Royal Pan Chinese and Paris Baguette, according to a site plan from commercial real estate firm John Cumbelich & Associates.

Jersey Mike’s serves cold and hot subs on bread that’s baked fresh daily (white, wheat or rosemary Parmesan). Udi’s gluten free bread is also available.

Sub options include The Original Italian (ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami, pepperoni and provolone), Mike’s Famous Philly (beef with grilled onions, peppers and white American cheese) and Jersey Shore’s Favorite (ham, cappacuolo and provolone). There are 26 subs on the menu.

Order a sub “Mike’s Way” and it’ll be topped with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, oregano, salt and The Juice — a blend of red wine vinegar and olive oil.

Items can also be ordered as bowls or wraps.

Jersey Mike’s other Stanislaus County location opened in Modesto in December.

Downtown Riverbank restaurant will serve food with global flavors

Kinfolks Flatstone Grill is taking over a unit in downtown Riverbank where The H.I.I.T Club closed in late August, according to a Facebook post by Councilmember Luis Uribe.

According to its Instagram page, Kinfolks will serve smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, rice bowls and specialty hot dogs. The restaurant will highlight flavor profiles from countries including Latin America, Vietnam, Korea and the United States.

“The big three” burgers will be the baconnaise smash, the classic smash and the barbecue smash. Hot honey chicken and banh mi chicken sandwiches will also be served.

Rice bowls will include the Korean beef, teriyaki chicken, Latin chicken and cheeseburger.

The hot dog part of the menu includes a banh mi dog, an elote dog, a brew dog, a Chicago dog and a Korean dog.

Renovations have just begun at the site on 3306 Santa Fe St., and an opening date has not been announced.
