19-year-old suspect arrested and charged with murder in death of Waterford man

A man has been arrested in connection with a death in Waterford, authorities report.

According to a Waterford Police Services Facebook post, the suspect, Christopher Torres, 19, of Waterford, was taken into custody and charged with murder in the June 14 death of Kenneth Rivera-Cruz.

According to a previous story in The Bee, Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies responded before 7:30 a.m. June 14 to the 12300 block of Quicksilver Street in Waterford after receiving a report of an unresponsive man.

The story reported the incident as a homicide.

According to Friday night’s Facebook post, the investigation remains ongoing, and no further information is being released.

Investigators seek witnesses who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Quicksilver Street area on the night of June 13 and into the early-morning hours of June 14.
