Coronavirus update, July 11: Stanislaus reports record 269 cases in one day

Latest facts on COVID-19 testing in Modesto area
Stanislaus County reported a one-day record of 269 positive coronavirus cases on Friday, and saw its positivity rate rise to 11.2%. Deaths in the county due to COVID-19 increased by one to 51, according to county data.
There was no information on the victim, including age or gender.
Positive tests stand at 4,633, according to the county Health Services Agency. Another 36,691 residents have tested negative.
The 20.66% rate of infection Friday was down from 23.61% the day before. The infection rate since the county started documenting data was 11.21% Friday, up from 10.9% Thursday. The rolling seven-day rate of infection stood at 13.57%. The day before, it was 12.63%.
The daily hospitalized count of confirmed patients was 167, down from 170 the day before. Among the five county hospitals, 38% of total beds are available, as are 31% of intensive care unit beds and 72% of ventilators.
Of those who tested positive, 55% are female and 45% male. Fourteen percent are 20 or younger, 20% are 21 to 30, 19% are 31 to 40, 17% are 41 to 50, 14% are 51 to 60, 7% are 61 to 70, 4% are 71 to 80, 4% are 81 to 90, and 2% are older than 90.
Modesto has 1,150 positive cases, 440 are in Ceres, 425 are in Turlock, 151 are in Patterson, 151 are in Riverbank, 60 are in Waterford, 57 are in Oakdale, 46 are in Newman, and 27 are in Hughson. Of the cases in unincorporated areas, 264 are in supervisorial District 5, 231 are in District 3, which includes Salida, 111 are in District 2, 50 are in District 1, and 18 are in District 4.
- San Joaquin County has 68 COVID-19-related deaths among 6,279 cases.
- Merced County has 12 deaths among 1,884 cases.
- Tuolumne County has 64 positive cases and zero deaths.
- Mariposa County has 31 positive cases and one death.
As of Friday night, there were 310,885 confirmed cases in California and 6,958 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. There were 3,184,722 U.S. cases and 134,117 deaths.
