Two suspects were arrested Thursday in connection to the 48 vehicle break-ins at the Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca that occurred Thanksgiving morning, according to the Manteca Police Department.

Police identified the suspects as 20-year-old Damiano Ray and 23-year-old Juan Mateo. Both were booked into San Joaquin County Jail on charges of burglary, vandalism and conspiracy.

The department said leads from the Manteca case linked the suspects to similar vehicle burglaries in Roseville in December. Detective Russ Smith and his team identified two of the three suspects and arrested them outside the Roseville Courthouse following a court appearance.

“The subsequent crime in Roseville shows what happens when theft suspects are not immediately captured or held in custody after their capture,” reads the press release. “The community and victims’ patience were much appreciated while the detectives investigated the initial crime and followed up on the leads.”

A third suspect remains at large, but DNA evidence was recovered at the scene. The department is asking that individual to turn himself in.

MPD added it is committed to keeping the community and victims informed, but certain details cannot be released as they could jeopardize the suspect’s capture, hinder a successful prosecution or create an officer safety issue.

Anyone with information about the third suspect is asked to contact the Manteca Police Department at 209-456-8101. The reference case number is 25-05328.
