On Thanksgiving morning, 48 vehicles were burglarized in the parking lot of the Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca.

Manteca police responded around 7:30 a.m. to a report of break-ins at the resort hotel on 2500 Daniels St.

According to police, vehicle windows were smashed and stolen items included electronics, toiletries and at least one firearm.

Community service officers processed the vehicles and took initial reports, which will be forwarded to a detective for further investigation.

The Manteca Great Wolf Lodge parking lot is gated and requires pulling a ticket for entry. The resort has security, though police said it’s unclear whether security staff were present in the lot at the time of the crime.

Police said the Great Wolf Lodge wants to compile the surveillance video first before releasing the video to them. “Therefore, we are unaware of what areas the cameras cover or what is on the video,” reads a press release from the Police Department.

The department urges people not to leave valuables in their vehicles, especially during the holiday season, when people may assume gifts or other high-value items are inside.

The investigation is in its early stages. Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact the Manteca Police Department at 209-456-8101.
