There are several grocery stores, supermarkets and retailers in the Modesto area. Here are the major chains that will be open or closed on Monday, Labor Day:
Costco: Closed.
Walmart: Open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Target: Open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Trader Joe’s: Open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sprouts: Open 7 a.m to 10 p.m.
O’Brien’s Market: Open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Safeway: Open 5 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Winco: Open 24 hours.
Raley’s/Bel Air: Open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Cost Less: Open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Are pharmacies open on Labor Day?
Here are open hours for pharmacies in the Modesto area on Labor Day:
CVS: Open 24 hours.
Walgreens: Open 6 a.m. to midnight.
Rite Aid: Open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Is the mall open on the holiday?
Vintage Faire Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Labor Day.
However, the mall website said individual restaurants can have different hours, so it’s best to contact them directly.
What’s closed in Modesto for Labor Day?
Several government offices, such as post offices and public libraries, and banks will be closed on Monday for Labor Day, including:
Stanislaus County Library: Closed.
U.S. Postal Service: Closed and there will be no regular mail deliveries. Retail, delivery and collections will continue on Tuesday.
California Department of Motor Vehicles: Closed. Offices will re-open Tuesday.
Bank of America: Closed.
BMO: Closed.
Chase Bank: Closed.
