UPDATE: Name released of bicyclist fatally hit by car on Modesto’s McHenry Avenue
A 61-year-old Modesto man riding a bicycle on McHenry Avenue died after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday night.
The collision occurred just before 7 p.m., north of Union Avenue.
Modesto police Sgt. Dan Starr said the bicyclist illegally crossed McHenry going east and was hit by a northbound Hyundai sedan.
The bicyclist was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. On Wednesday the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Kent Warn of Modesto.
The woman driving the Hyundai stopped at the scene and was not injured, Starr said.
