Stockton man killed in three-vehicle crash north of Oakdale
A Stockton man was killed and his passenger seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on Valley Home Road north of Oakdale, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at 5:10 p.m. Friday when the 16-year-old driver of a 2013 Honda made a right turn onto Valley Home Road, failing to yield to a southbound Ford.
The driver of the Ford, a 60-year-old Oakdale resident, braked but couldn’t turn to the left to avoid hitting the 2013 Honda because there was a 2007 Honda approaching in the northbound lane, according to the CHP.
The right front of the Ford first struck the left front of the 2013 Honda, then the left front of the Ford collided with the left side of the northbound 2007 Honda, according to the CHP.
The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the driver of the 2007 Honda, 47-year-old Cu Huynh of Stockton. His passenger, a 55-year-old Stockton man, suffered major injuries.
The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries.
The 16-year-old boy, a resident of Oakdale, was not injured.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the collision, according to the CHP.
