Coronavirus update, Nov. 20: Two vaccine clinics in Stanislaus offer $50 gift cards

Stanislaus County added two deaths to COVID-19 and 105 cases Friday.

A total of 1,406 residents have died from the virus since April 2020, the Health Services Agency said. Stanislaus has 80,622 cases, 1,000,700 negative test results and 77,761 people who are presumed recovered.

Other details:

Hospital cases: The county’s five hospitals had 94 patients with confirmed COVID-19 on Friday, down one from Thursday. Adults in intensive care rose by one to 24.

Positivity rates: On the state dashboard Wednesday, where numbers reflect the previous day, the seven-day positivity rate was 5.8%, up from 5.3% a day ago, a decrease of 0.5% from the prior seven days. The rolling seven-day rate a month ago was about 6.9%.

Vaccines: As of Friday, 90.3% of county residents 12 and older had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 63.8% were fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The age limit is now down to 5, but data on this younger group is not yet available.

The county has public vaccine clinics that each offer all three types: Pfizer (5 and older), Moderna (18+) and Johnson & Johnson (18+).

Two clinics offer a $50 gift card from Save Mart while supplies last to people getting first, second or third doses. They are Nov. 20 on Paradise Road in Modesto and Nov. 22 in Ceres.

California has administered 57,789,336 vaccine doses as of Friday, according to the CDC tracker. The state ranks 12th in the country, with 146,257 doses per 100,000 residents. Vermont ranks first, West Virginia 50th among the states.

It’s important to note that if you’ve had part or full vaccination, wearing a mask and keeping with all the safety precautions like social distancing in some circumstances is still recommended by the Centers for Disease for Control and Prevention. Also, those who have had COVID-19 still need to be vaccinated.

Case demographics: Here are the breakdowns of the positive tests in Stanislaus County as of Friday:

  • 53% are female
  • 47% male
  • 11.6% are 14 years or younger
  • 16.3% are ages 15 to 24
  • 18.8% are 25 to 34
  • 17% are 35 to 44
  • 14.1% are 45 to 54
  • 11.4% are 55 to 64
  • 6.1% are 65 to 74
  • 3.1% are 75 to 84
  • 1.6% are 85 or older
  • Latinos are 49.6% of the positive cases, whites are 31.8%, Asians are 4.2%, Blacks are 2.4%, and the rest are other groups.

  • Modesto has 30,597 positive cases
  • Turlock has 10,441
  • Ceres has 8,102
  • Riverbank has 3,735
  • Patterson has 3,402
  • Oakdale has 2,862
  • Newman has 1,634

As of Friday evening, there were 5,028,939 confirmed cases in California and 73,552 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. There were 47,660,375 U.S. cases and 770,691 deaths.
