Son tells 911 he ‘thinks he hurt his mom pretty bad,’ California sheriff says
Sheriff’s deputies found a 79-year-old woman dying in a home after her son called 911, California authorities said.
Her 50-year-old son called 911 at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, to say he had taken too much medication and “doesn’t remember what happened, but thinks he hurt his mom pretty bad,” sheriff’s Lt. Mike Krugh told The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Deputies who responded to a home in Lakeside northeast of San Diego found the woman unresponsive with “obvious signs of trauma,” said a San Diego Sheriff’s Department news release.
Despite their efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead, the release said. Her identity has not been released.
Investigators arrested Arleigh Clifford Anderson on a murder charge, officials said. An investigation continues.
Detectives ask that anyone with information call 858-285-6330 or 858-565-5200 after hours. Anonymous tips can be left at 888-580-8477.
