More places to get big burritos and burgers are coming to Stanislaus County.
In a Dec. 5 Facebook post, Oakdale Mayor Cherilyn Bairos announced that Chipotle is coming to the city. She said it will be in the Mountain Mike’s Pizza shopping center at Maag Avenue and F Street. This will be the first Chipotle in Oakdale.
Comments on the post were enthusiastic, with multiple people excited that they would no longer need to drive to Riverbank to dine at Chipotle.
In a text to The Bee, Bairos said she did not have a projected opening date but will announce updates via social media.
This is the second announced business coming to the shopping center previously anchored by the last K-Mart in Stanislaus County, which closed in 2019. In July, the city announced that Walmart submitted plans to build a Walmart Neighborhood Market on the site, and a new revised site plan application was submitted in November that seeks to demolish the old building and construct a 45,000-square-foot building.
About 20 miles south of Oakdale, Turlock will get its first Nation’s Giant Hamburgers.
The storefront is at 1811 Countryside Drive, in the Foodmaxx shopping center, and adjacent to Chong’s Cuisine.
Though no opening date has yet been announced, job openings for the site are posted on Indeed, with positions starting at $17.50 per hour.
The Turlock Journal reported that sources said it will likely open in December. This will be the third Nation’s in Stanislaus County, joining the Modesto locations on McHenry Avenue and the recently opened location on Pelendale Avenue.
The Bay Area chain offers giant burgers, breakfast, homemade pies, and thick milkshakes, and its signature burgers are served with Miracle Whip for a distinct flavor.
