Five shows, events to catch in Modesto area before end of spring
From comedy and classic rock to art tours and festivals, the Modesto region has a packed calendar of events through the end of May.
Here are key shows to plan for:
• Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain: The ensemble, known for tongue-in-cheek covers of popular songs performed in semiformal evening dress, plays the Gallo Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. April 25. Tickets range from $45 to $75.
• Hughson Fruit & Nut Festival: The annual event hosted by the Hughson Chamber of Commerce is April 25-26 and features vendors, arts and crafts and family fun, with a classic car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 26 only. Admission is free.
• Scotty McCreery at Fruit Yard Amphitheater: The country artist is scheduled to perform May 8 at the Modesto-area venue, which accommodates about 3,500 people with lawn and reserved seating. More information is available at thefruityardevents.com.
• Adam Carolla at the State Theatre: The comedian, podcaster and one-time “Loveline” co-host brings his stand-up show to Modesto at 8 p.m. May 16. Tickets are $45 to $65, and the show is for ages 18 and older only.
• Mitchell Tenpenny at Fruit Yard Amphitheater: The country artist performs May 23 at the venue at 7948 Yosemite Blvd., part of a growing 2026 lineup that also includes ZZ Top with Cheap Trick on Aug. 9.
