Holiday movie being filmed outdoors in Riverbank. Where, when to check it out
You may have just finished watching all those romantic Christmas movies, such as the ones shown on Hallmark, Lifetime and Netflix.
But there’s always next year to pick up the tradition. And someone currently is filming in Riverbank.
According to Virginia Still, administrative clerk for the Riverbank Parks and Recreation Department, a holiday romance movie is being filmed at the city’s Plaza Del Rio.
Still didn’t have details on the movie itself, who is behind it or when and where it might ultimately be shown, but said filming is scheduled to take place through Friday.
Plaza Del Rio is at 6702 Third St. and includes a stage area, electricity and a water fountain, according to the city’s website.
“It’s really cute, it really is. I can see it being a Hallmark (type of) movie (site),” Still said of the location. “... Our downtown is quite cozy and cute,” she said of why someone might want to shoot a film there. “I think they liked the small downtown we have.”
