Modesto-bred Timothy Olyphant is about to wreak ‘Havoc’ in Netflix thriller

R-rated “Havoc” stars Tom Hardy as “a jaded detective” who tangles with mob figures, according to a story on UPROXX.

“With a 105-minute runtime, Havoc is described as ‘a high octane action thriller’ with a malevolent Timothy Olyphant included as a bonus,” according to the story.

It’s directed by Gareth Evans, who won acclaim for his action flick “The Raid: Redemption” and its sequel.

After a drug deal that went wrong, Hardy’s character “finds himself with a number of factions on his tail; a vengeful crime syndicate, a crooked politician, as well as his fellow cops,” according to a synopsis posted in the UPROXX story.

Olyphant, who was nominated for an Emmy Award for his starring role in the FX series “Justified,” plays a character named Vincent, according to IMDb.com.

“Havoc” also stars Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzmán, Jessie Mei Li, Justin Cornwell, Quelin Sepulveda, Jim Caesar, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Michelle Waterson, Sunny Pang and Yeo Yann Yann, according to the UPROXX story.

The Netflix film is just one of several projects coming up for Beyer High graduate Olyphant, according to IMDb.

He “appears as a mysterious, well-dressed golfer” in the Apple+ streaming comedy series “Stick,” according to another UPROXX story. It stars Owen Wilson as a former pro-golfer trying to make it back into the game. “Stick” is set to premiere June 4, according to IMDB.

Olyphant will play the extraterrestrial Kirsh in “Alien: Earth” on the FX network and Hulu streaming service. It’s expected to debut this summer as a prequel to the “Aliens” franchise.
