Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick threw a touchdown to New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley in a celebrity flag football game late last month organized by “Quavo”, a member of the hip-hop group, Migos.
Kaepernick, who hasn’t played in the NFL since 2016, participated in the charity event in Atlanta, along with current NFL players Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons wide receiver) and Von Miller (Denver Broncos linebacker) among others, according to CBS Sports’ John Breech.
Kaepernick, who recently settled a lawsuit with the NFL after alleging the league colluded in keeping teams from signing him, received praise from the 2018 NFL Offensive Rookie Player of the Year.
The 2006 Pitman High grad has been outspoken about social issues that includes police brutality.
“I came up to him and told him, ‘I don’t mean to come off as a fan, but I’m a big fan and I respect everything that you did,” Barkley told Fox 5 reporter Justin Felder.
