Roundup: Waterford beats Orestimba for first time in school history; Turlock wins big

It’s safe to say that Waterford’s offense was in sync on Friday as the Wildcats (2-1) scored on seven straight offensive possessions in a 46-37 victory over Orestimba.

It was the school’s first ever win over the Warriors (2-1).

Wildcats junior quarterback Aaron Adams threw four touchdown passes and ran for one and senior Lucas Real had three receiving touchdowns.

Orestimba senior quarterback Anthony Casillas threw for three touchdowns and ran for one and junior running back Lazs King had two rushing touchdowns.

Turlock 44, Enochs 6: Senior running back Josiah Gonzales had 14 carries for 214 yards and one touchdown in the Bulldogs (3-0) win over the Eagles (2-1) in a Central California Athletic League matchup.

“Everyone showed up and did their job tonight at home, and that’s what we want to do in front of our hometown, ”Turlock head coach James Peterson said in an interview with the Turlock Journal.

Turlock led 24-0 at halftime and held Enochs to 118 total yards, including 11 rushing yards on 24 carries.

Bulldogs sophomore quarterback Cole Gilbert had 157 passing yards and one passing touchdown and added one rushing touchdown.

“I think they’re playing like they’ve got a chip on their shoulder because so many of our leaders and seniors really pushed each other to get better no matter what happened with COVID,” Peterson said. “They always pushed each other to work on their own, go out and throw the ball around together and be with the guys.”

Eagles junior quarterback Keith Orona connected with senior wide receiver Aggee Tombe for the team’s only touchdown.

Beyer 18, Los Banos 7: The Patriots (2-1) shut out the Tigers (0-3) in the second half to earn the road win.

Pacheco 42, Johansen 6: The Vikings (0-3) fell on the road to the Panthers (2-1). Sophomore Daniel Scott had two interceptions for Pacheco, including one returned for a touchdown.

Davis 27, Mountain House 26: Davis (1-2) scored a touchdown with 1 minute, 10 seconds remaining and converted the two-point conversion for its first win of the season.

Sonora 20, Summerville 14: The Wildcats moved to 3-0 on the season with the win.

Hughson 27, Atwater 7: Senior quarterback Aiden Meyer had two passing touchdowns in the Huskies’ (3-0) win over the Falcons (1-2).
