Local Digest: Former MC QB Nate Sudfeld signs contract with Eagles
Nate Sudfeld, a former Modesto Christian quarterback and current Philadelphia Eagle, signed his restricted free agent tender on Monday, the team announced.
His contract is a one-year deal worth $3.09 million.
Sudfeld played in only one game in 2018 but threw a touchdown in the Eagles’ 24-0 win over the Washington Redskins in Week 17.
He holds the Modesto Christian single-season records for passing yards and passing touchdowns.
MJC will host fundraiser in May: The Modesto Junior College Athletics Department and MJC Foundation will host the 20th Annual Pirates Fest on Friday, May 10, from 6-9 p.m. in the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center on the school’s West Campus.
The event will have beer and wine tasting, food, and a silent auction. Live music is also planned for the event.
Proceeds from the event will go to the 21 Pirates sports teams.

Big Valley Christian senior Tyler Meyer leads the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section in RBIs (29) and strikeouts (78).
The Lions host Stone Ridge Christian at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Orestimba senior Jacob Dominguez leads the section with 30 stolen bases and Ripon Christian junior Elizabeth Thomas leads all softball players with 48 RBIs.
