Noelia Lopez has been the offensive catalyst for Hughson High’s softball team this season.

Her .432 batting average, 16 hits, 12 RBIs, eight doubles and one triple are all team highs through the first half of the Huskies’ season.

She led Hughson to its first Trans-Valley League win April 6 in a 15-7 victory over Hilmar. The senior shortstop had two hits with a double, three RBIs and scored two runs. The win ended a three-game losing streak. The fans noticed her performance, voting Lopez as The Bee’s Girls Player of the Week.

Lopez finished first after collecting 64% of the votes in the weekly poll. She came in ahead of softball players Chloee Hoffman of Gregori and Beyer’s Jordyn Lish, who finished second and third.
