The Turlock Christian High baseball team needed extra innings to take care of Ben Holt College Prep Academy in an April 3 non-league matchup.

The Eagles did not score until the seventh, getting a run to answer the Bobcats’ first-inning run and tie the score at 1-1. They won on a sacrifice fly in the eighth, remaining undefeated at 8-0.

Rob York once again made his impact. The senior pitched a complete game, allowing one hit and striking out 14. He tripled in the eighth and was the game-winning run after being driven in by Gavin Farinha.

The fans noticed York’s performance, voting him The Bee’s Boys Player of the Week.

York finished first after collecting 52% of the votes in the weekly poll. He came in ahead of baseball players Payton Hawkinson (Turlock) and Chase Lobo (Orestimba), who finished second and third.
