The Stanislaus District high school basketball regular season is coming to a close.

The final day of the regular season is Friday; playoff brackets will be released on Saturday.

Here are the Bee’s final rankings before the playoffs with a couple of league championships still yet to be decided (CCAL on both boys and girls and TVL boys).

A number of teams hope their seasons extend to at least Feb. 27 or 28 when the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Championships take place at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. The CIF State playoffs begin the following week.

There are at least six teams on the boys’ side and a couple of girls teams capable of winning a section championship.

Central Catholic, Modesto Christian, and Sonora boys teams all played in championship games last year; the Wildcats captured a title.

All have chances of getting back to Sacramento with the No. 2 Wildcats and No. 3 Raiders likely getting top seeds in the playoffs.

Sonora hasn’t lost a game since Dec. 27. Raiders’ senior guard Dayton Magana all but sealed a Valley Oak League title on Feb. 7 with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer against Weston Ranch.

It’s never too early to talk about basketball players of the year, so email at jalopez@modbee.com with your picks and reasons behind them. The Bee will have All-District Teams for both the boys and girls.

Note: Teams’ records do not include Tuesday’s results
