Leona Korock: Don’t discard Modesto’s historic Lion Bridge
Re “Council endorses plan to replace iconic bridge” (Page 3A, Feb. 17): Why do we spend thousands of dollars to go see old buildings and things like old buildings in Europe? Out here in America, what do we do? Out with the old, and in with the new. No wonder our children and students have little concept of history. Let’s keep the Lion Bridge (7th Street) and its history.
