Turlock pedestrian killed in Washington Road crash identified by coroner
Authorities have identified a man who was killed in a crash early last Monday on Washington Road south of Ehrlich Road in the Turlock area.
The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jesus Perez Rafael, 52, of Turlock.
The crash occurred around 4:35 a.m. Monday, March 16, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators previously said Rafael was walking in the northbound traffic lane of Washington Road when he was struck by a northbound Toyota SUV driven by Irene Rodriguez, 52, of Hilmar.
Rafael died at the scene.
Rodriguez was not injured and was not believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, CHP said. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
As of Thursday, CHP officials said there are no new updates in the investigation.
