Hospital in Stanislaus County is getting a new chief executive officer. What to know
A new chief executive officer will oversee Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock following a shift in leadership.
Dr. Murali Naidu, Emanuel’s CEO since fall 2021, will become the top executive at San Ramon Regional Medical Center in the Bay Area. Tenet Healthcare is the parent company of both hospitals.
Michael Klepin will take over as CEO of Emanuel, moving from St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, a Tenet news release said Tuesday. Klepin guided the Texas hospital for two years and was CEO of Southern California Hospital in Culver City from 2018 to 2022. His new job at Emanuel begins Nov. 4.
Emanuel is a 209-bed community hospital with a neonatal intensive care unit and a cancer treatment center operated in partnership with Stanford.
“Mike is a dynamic, experienced leader and has a track record of driving improvements, fostering strong relationships with physicians and medical staff, and building programs that expand and advance available healthcare services,” said Jay Krishnaswamy, CEO of Central Valley Doctors Health System.
Naidu was given credit as an effective and strategic leader who helped navigate both Doctors Hospital of Manteca and Emanuel through the pandemic and other challenges. Naidu was CEO of the Tenet-owned Manteca hospital before joining Emanuel.
“It is always hard to leave because of the people, and that is certainly true with Emanuel and Turlock,’ Naidu said in the news release. “The teams here are truly focused on caring and empathy, and their incredible skill and knowledge enable the daily miracles that occur at Emanuel.”
Klepin earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Youngstown State University in Ohio. He holds a master’s degree in public health administration from the University of Cincinnati.
“I am impressed with the depth and breadth of care at Emanuel Medical Center,” Klepin said. “A hallmark of Emanuel is the personal warmth of the teams and how they are part of the fabric of the community.”
