West Modesto shooting victim dies from wounds
A shooting Wednesday morning in west Modesto turned into a homicide case when the victim died from his wounds, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department reported Thursday.
The shooting was in the 1700 block of Donald Street. Deputies were called to the scene about 9:30 a.m. and arrived to find 49-year-old Louis Ramos suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Ramos was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery and later died. Detectives have followed up on several investigative tips over the past day but had no information on any suspects to provide Thursday afternoon.
