Victim of Hatch Road hit-and-run identified as Modesto man

The man who died in an apparent hit-and-run collision in south Modesto on Monday morning has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

Juan Santillan, 33, of Modesto, was found dead on the south shoulder of Hatch Road, just east of Church Lane.

A preliminary investigation by the California Highway Patrol indicates the man was struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene.

No information was available about the suspect or the vehicle involved. The time of the collision also remains under investigation.

The CHP is looking for witnesses or anyone with information about the suspect and the vehicle involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Aaron Norseen at 209-545-7440.
