Man found dead along Modesto’s Hatch Road. He was killed in apparent hit-and-run
The California Highway Patrol is investigating what appears to be a hit-and-run incident in south Modesto after a deceased man was found along East Hatch Road early Monday morning.
At a about 5:45 a.m. a passerby called 911 to report the man down on the south shoulder of Hatch, just east of Church Lane, according to the CHP.
The CHP’s preliminary investigation indicates the man was struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene.
No information was available about the suspect or the vehicle involved and no identifying information about the victim was released. It is also unknown what time the collision occurred.
The CHP is looking for witnesses or anyone with information about the suspect and the vehicle involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Aaron Norseen at 209-545-7440.
