A pregnant woman called Stanislaus deputies for help. They found a man had been shot
Detectives with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a shooting at a mobile home park near Keyes. The victim is expected to survive, authorities said.
The incident started when a woman called 911 at 12:55 p.m., authorities said. The woman was crying and said she’d been attacked and that a man was trying to enter her home.
As deputies were responding, the California Highway Patrol got a call reporting a shooting at the same location on Nunes Road.
Deputies found the woman, who is pregnant, suffering from minor injuries and a 27-year-old man who had been shot was in the driveway of the residence, said Sgt. Erich Layton.
Authorities said they do not know what relationship there is, if any, between the man and the woman. They said they don’t know if the man was the attacker and they don’t believe the woman shot the man.
No suspects have been identified publicly or taken into custody. But investigators said they do not believe there is a public threat and they consider the incident isolated.
The identities of those involved have not been released.
The male victim was taken out of the area to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. The woman was going to seek her own medical attention as a precautionary measure because of her pregnancy. The nature of her injuries was not immediately clear.
