Three teens arrested in Modesto paintball gun attack at Village One shopping center
Three teenage boys were arrested Thursday night for allegedly shooting at people with paintball guns at the Raley’s shopping center at Roselle and Floyd avenues.
Investigators have not yet determined if they are the same suspects in a rash of paintball gun attacks around Modesto several weeks ago.
Officers responded to the shopping center at about 9:30 p.m. Officers were talking to two juvenile victims who reported the attack when the suspects drove back into the shopping center parking lot, said Modesto police Officer Adam Foster.
Three boys inside the vehicle, two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old, were detained and booked into juvenile hall. Foster did not know Friday afternoon what charge they were booked on.
The earlier attacks, between Aug. 26 to Sept. 1, occurred during the afternoon and evening hours at various locations, including downtown on H Street, College and Coldwell avenues and on Yosemite Boulevard.
