Sonora resident charged with receiving and distributing child pornography
Sonora resident Jonathan James Rodriguez was arraigned in a Fresno courthouse on Tuesday on charges of child pornography, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced.
According to court documents, the 37-year-old Rodriguez used a laptop to receive and distribute “a visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct” between January 2014 and January 2020.
If convicted, Rodriguez faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
The case is the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone who has information related to this investigation or who believes they may be a victim can contact the FBI at JonRVictims@fbi.gov.
