Update: Suspect in Modesto shooting dies in apparent suicide in Stockton

The suspect in a fatal shooting Monday in Modesto has died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot in Stockton, police said Wednesday.

Anthony Dunn, 20, of Stockton was suspected of shooting Miguel Facha, 22, of Ceres on the 1600 block of Yosemite Boulevard. Police had said Tuesday that Dunn was wounded in an apparent suicide attempt while surrounded by Stockton officers who were helping on the homicide. His death was reported in an update Wednesday afternoon.

Modesto police said Facha was shot during a robbery at about 10:45 p.m. Monday while in his vehicle in a parking lot at Yosemite and Severin Avenue. He died at a local hospital.

Dunn left the scene but was spotted Tuesday by Stockton police, who then set up a perimeter, the Modesto department said.
