South Modesto stabbing victim identified

A man stabbed to death at a mobile home complex on South Seventh Street on Thursday was identified as 37-year-old Stanley Schmidt.

Schmidt was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after being stabbed.

Investigators identified the the suspect in Schmidt’s stabbing as 30-year-old Adam Goodman. He remains at large.

Goodman, also known as “Chubs,” is described as white, 5-foot-9 and weighing 194 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos over his left eye and on his chin and neck.

The suspect last was seen wearing a black hat, black T-shirt and jeans with an “Ed Hardy” design on the back of them.
