Modesto motorcyclist killed in La Loma neighborhood crash identified by coroner

A Modesto motorcyclist who died following a collision Friday night in the city’s La Loma neighborhood has been identified as Alana Inderbitzin, 48, of Modesto, authorities said.

Officers with the Modesto Police Department responded shortly before 10 p.m. Friday to the area of La Loma Avenue and Morton Boulevard for a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

When officers arrived, they located the motorcyclist, who had been struck by a vehicle, according to MPD spokesperson Sharon Bear.

The driver of the vehicle believed to be involved was not at the scene when officers arrived, police said.

Inderbitzin was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Police said the vehicle believed to be involved in the collision has since been located, though authorities have not released additional details about the driver or the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Modesto Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is continuing to investigate what happened and the driver’s involvement.
