A Modesto man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a 36-year-old man in Dixon.

According to a story on Vacaville’s The Reporter website, “Zachary Charles Buckner, 32, was arrested in Manteca on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a Halloween night shooting in downtown Dixon.”

The Reporter cited a news release posted on social media and jail records for the information.

Just before midnight on Halloween, officers received a report of a shooting on South First Street in Dixon, the story said. When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds.

“Officers provided immediate medical aid until Dixon Fire Department personnel arrived, the police press release noted,” the story said. “The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries and is continuing to recover.”

The suspect reportedly fled in a silver vehicle.

Dixon Police detectives, with assistance from the California Highway Patrol, arrested Buckner at Highway 120 and Union Avenue in Manteca on Nov. 25, the story said. He was booked into Solano County Jail and is scheduled for arraignment on Monday in Solano County Superior Court.
