Reminder: Yearlong closure of Roselle Avenue begins Friday for expressway project

Roselle detour map
Stanislaus County

A yearlong closure of Roselle Avenue will begin Friday (Oct. 3) to allow for construction of the North County Corridor expressway near Modesto.

The section of road, just north of Modesto, will be closed between Plainview and Claribel roads. Traffic detours will use Sylvan, Oakdale, Patterson and Claus roads.

Stanislaus County is building Phase 1 of the North County Corridor between Oakdale Road and Claus Road. The 2.4-mile section of the four-lane route will be completed in 2028.

Motorists are advised to use caution in active construction zones during the project. Message boards will provide the dates and times for night closures of Claus Road, near Claribel, usually from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., and other impacts, including full closure of Terminal Avenue, from Minnear to Plainview, and lane restrictions on Claus, Claribel and Oakdale roads.

People can check the northcountycorridorphase1.com website for construction alerts, detours and project updates. Call the hotline at 209-217-9616 for questions and concerns.
