Biosecurity compliance audit program scientist | Permanent, full time

  • Department: Food and Agriculture
  • Salary: $4,269 to $8,877 monthly

The biosecurity compliance audit program scientist is responsible for helping farmers and other staff members create and review biosecurity plans by making sure they follow federal rules.

Duties include checking farm procedures and paperwork during audits to reduce disease risks.

This is a hybrid position, with opportunities for remote work, according to CalCareers.

Environmental scientist | Permanent, full time

  • Department: Food and Agriculture
  • Salary: $4,269 to $8,877 per month

The environmental scientist is responsible for inspecting dairy farms and milk processing plants to make sure food safety rules are being followed.

Duties include checking equipment, testing for safety issues, investigating potential hazards and writing reports on findings.

Graduate student assistant | Limited, part time

  • Salary: $3,724 to $5,810 monthly

The graduate student assistant helps counselors support people with disabilities.

Senior vocational rehabilitation counselor | Permanent, full time

  • Department: Rehabilitation
  • Salary: $5,213 to $7,494 monthly

The senior vocational rehabilitation counselor helps people who are blind get the services they need to find and keep jobs.

Duties include deciding who qualifies for help and creating job plans.

Veterinarian | Permanent, full time

  • Department: Food and Agriculture
  • Salary: $6,869 to $11,232 monthly

The veterinarian helps protect animal health and food safety.

Duties include diagnosing livestock and poultry diseases, running tests, collecting samples and responding to animal disease outbreaks.

Veterinarian specialist | Permanent, full time

The veterinarian specialist helps lead animal health, food safety and emergency response efforts in the Modesto area.

Duties including preparing for and responding to livestock and poultry disease outbreaks, as well as updating local response plans and recommending policy changes.

In addition, the veterinarian specialist helps develop plans, writes reports and coordinates with state and national programs to improve emergency preparedness.
