The restaurant is owner and operator Micah Payton’s second Chick-fil-A location in the San Joaquin County city.

“Since starting my journey with Chick-fil-A five years ago, the support and relationships built within the Manteca community have been truly invaluable,” he said in the release. “I look forward to the opportunity to touch more lives, create professional job opportunities and a space where team members feel supported and inspired to further invest in the community I’m proud to call home.”

Will Modesto get its own Chick-fil-A anytime soon?

Modesto residents have been clamoring for a Chick-fil-A restaurant for more than a year.

“Modestians, we need a Chick-fil-A ASAP,” Reddit user AlertnativeReality wrote in April 2024. “I hate driving to Manteca just for that. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.”

However, it’s unlikely that Modesto will get a Chick-fil-A location anytime soon, The Modesto Bee previously reported.

“We are always evaluating potential new locations in the hopes of serving existing and new customers great food with remarkable service,” Chick-fil-A company representatives told The Bee via email in August. “While we hope to serve the Stanislaus County community in the future, we do not currently have any locations to confirm.”

According to Jessica Hill, Modesto’s director of community and economic development, the city has been actively working to bring Chick-Fil-A to town.

However, she told The Bee, the challenge is finding the right location.

“For Chick-fil-A, they prefer right off the freeway. They prefer a big enough parcel to accommodate their long drive-thru,” Hill said in August. “Trying to find what they’re looking for with the size of parcel has been something that the city of Modesto continues to explore.”
