One dead in crash at Milnes and Claus roads in northeast Modesto, police report

Modesto police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred Monday evening on Claus Road at Milnes Road. One person was killed in the crash, a watch commander said.
No information on the vehicles involved, any injuries beyond the fatality, and the circumstances of the crash was immediately available.
The intersection where the crash happened is T-shaped, with east-west Milnes ending at Claus. Claus has just two lanes, except for a short center lane to turn east onto Milnes and south onto Claus.
The crash closed Claus in both directions indefinitely.
