The Ford Mustang driver killed in a collision with a semi-truck was identified as Timoteo Alvarez Torres, 32, of Ceres.

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office said he was involved in the crash at about 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, on Morgan Road at Nelson Way.

Alvarez Torres had four young children, said his wife, Benita, in a GoFundMe appeal.

“His passing has left an unimaginable void in our hearts and lives,” she said. “As I navigate this overwhelming grief, I am also faced with the financial burden of funeral expenses and the challenge of providing stability for our children.”

The Modesto Police Department did not have an update on its investigation as of Monday morning. The collision happened just north of the border with Ceres.

MPD’s initial report Friday said the Mustang was headed south when it hit the northbound semi. The truck driver had minor injuries.

Witnesses to the collision can contact Officer Cody Chesney at chesneyc@modestopd.com.
