Modesto Fire Department controls commercial yard fire within 15 minutes. See the blaze
The Modesto Fire Department quickly controlled a fire in a large commercial yard that threatened a neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
Around 2:50 a.m., crews responded to the 2000 block of Yosemite Boulevard after reports of a commercial working structure fire. Portable toilets and several construction trailers were on fire in the yard.
A large building adjacent to the yard was starting to catch fire near a neighborhood to the north, according to the fire department. Crews surrounded the fire by accessing it from Yosemite and Glendale avenues.
The fire was brought under control in around 15 minutes using hose lines and master streams.
The building was saved and the threat to the nearby homes was mitigated, according to the department. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation.
There was no information available late Wednesday morning on possible origin and cause and estimated damage done.
