Toddler saved by Stanislaus County first responders after near-drowning incident in Ceres

First responders rescue drowning victim

A toddler survived a near-drowning incident in Ceres Thursday evening due to the efforts of Stanislaus County first responders.

Modesto Fire Department Engine 15 responded to the 3600 Block of Chandra Court in Ceres around 5:15 p.m. When it arrived, the Ceres Police Department was performing CPR on a 2-year-old boy, according to an incident report.

Air ambulance was requested, and crews provided advanced life support treatment for around 15 minutes. The toddler regained a pulse and started to breath on his own at the scene.

Modesto Fire Engine 10 secured the landing zone at Sinclair Elementary School and PHI M-41 transported the toddler to UC Davis Medical Center for further care.
