New discount grocery store to open in Stanislaus County with deals and a $1,000 raffle
Patterson will welcome a new bargain market on Sperry Avenue next week, in the same parking lot where the town’s first Dutch Bros is set to open.
Grocery Outlet will hold its grand opening Thursday, Aug. 10, where owner-and-operator duo Sarah Kumar and Frank Quiroga will do a ribbon cutting and offer giveaways.

Patterson Grocery Outlet opens its doors
Grocery Outlet is adding to its nearly 450 stores nationwide with the opening of the Patterson location.
Shortly after the Patterson opening, Stanislaus County will gain another location of the retail chain. Modesto Grocery Outlet (Prescott location) owners Roger and Heidi Custer announced on Facebook that their Ceres location will open in six weeks.
Patterson’s grand opening will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10. The ribbon will be cut in front of the doors at 2900 Sperry Ave.
The first 100 customers will receive a Grocery Outlet gift card ranging from $5 to $500, according to a company news release. All first-day shoppers will get a free limited-edition reusable bag, while supplies last.
Through Sept. 7 on the store’s website, customers can enter a raffle for a chance to win $1,000 in groceries. The prize is valid only at the Patterson location.
The winner doesn’t have to be at the store to win, but must claim the prize within three days of the email notification, according to the release. The prize will be distributed over 20 $50 certificates.
Jobs at Grocery Outlet
Patterson Grocery Outlet is creating 35 jobs in the community, according to the release.
Because each store is independently owned and operated, applicants must apply for a specific location. This can be done on the Grocery Outlet website, where you will search for the store with at which you wish to apply.
The Ceres store is also accepting applications ahead of its opening.
