Night work will affect two Highway 99 interchanges in Modesto area. What you need to know
Nighttime construction will close one Highway 99 interchange in the Modesto area and parts of another this week.
It will involve the Briggsmore Avenue and Hammett Avenue junctions, starting on the evening of Wednesday, July 5.
The California Department of Transportation provided details in an email alert:
- Both the northbound and southbound off-ramps to Briggsmore will close for pavement striping from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning. The northbound work will be from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., the southbound side from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- The southbound on-ramp from Briggsmore will close for bridge maintenance from 9 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday.
- The Hammett interchange will close entirely for maintenance from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday and again from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday.
Drivers planning to use Hammett can instead detour to the Kiernan Avenue interchange, about a mile to the south. Just to the north is the Stanislaus River.
The Briggsmore detour can be to either the Standiford Avenue interchange to the north or Kansas Avenue to the south.
