Drivers can expect two weeks of detours to allow repaving of two miles of Briggsmore Avenue in Modesto.
An updated schedule shows closures on parts of the well-traveled route starting Sunday night and running to July 7. The work is between McHenry Avenue and Oakdale Road.
The $7.25 million project also involves repaving Orangeburg Avenue between Coffee and Oakdale roads. It was completed Thursday.
The city hired Hughson-based United Pavement Maintenance Inc. for the job. The contract also includes new sidewalks on part of Empire Avenue in the airport neighborhood, which also is done.
Modesto is funding all of the work with the Measure L sales tax, approved by Stanislaus County voters in 2016.
Sunday night, June 25: McHenry to Sunrise Avenue, placement of asphalt-rubber chips in advance of paving
Monday night: Paving from McHenry to Sunrise, 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday
Tuesday to Thursday: Daytime asphalt-rubber application between Sunrise and Oakdale
Friday: Daytime paving between Sunrise and Coffee
July 3: Daytime paving between Coffee and Rose Avenue
July 5-6: Daytime paving between Rose and Oakdale
July 7: Daytime paving between Sunrise and Oakdale.
