Three-alarm fire breaks out south of downtown Modesto

A three-alarm fire broke out south of downtown Modesto early Saturday morning.

There were no reports of injuries

Just before 7 a.m., several agencies responded to the fire at a commercial structure in the 800 block of Seventh Street, according to the Modesto Fire Department.

When crews arrived, they found the single-story structure on fire with heavy smoke coming out of the inside. They requested more support and attacked the blaze from the exterior.

On scene were firefighters from Modesto, the Ceres Fire Department and the Stanislaus Consolidate Fire Protection District.

There was no immediate information on the name of the business, cause of fire or estimated damage.

The Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit is on scene.
