Coronavirus update, Dec. 21: Stanislaus hits 1,462 deaths, sets six vaccine clinics
Stanislaus County added three deaths to COVID-19 and 252 positive tests over the three days ending Monday.
The death toll stands at 1,462 residents since the first was announced in April 2020, the Health Services Agency said.
Stanislaus has a total of 83,277 positive tests, 1,071,703 negative test results and 80,572 people who are presumed recovered.
Other details:
Hospital cases: The county’s five hospitals had 91 patients with confirmed COVID-19 on Monday, up from 81 on Friday. Adults in intensive care dropped by three to 22.
Vaccines: As of Monday, 84.3% of eligible county residents (5 and older) had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 59.5% were fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The county has public vaccine clinics that each offer all three types: Pfizer (5 and older), Moderna (18+) and Johnson & Johnson (18+). The schedule through Dec. 30:

California has administered 64,114,995 vaccine doses as of Monday, according to the Centers for Disease for Control and Prevention. The state ranks 12th in the country, with 162,266 doses per 100,000 residents. Vermont ranks first, Idaho 50th among the states.
It’s important to note that if you’ve had part or full vaccination, wearing a mask and keeping with all the safety precautions like social distancing in some circumstances is still recommended by the CDC. Also, those who have had COVID-19 still need to be vaccinated.
