Coronavirus update, Dec. 14: Stanislaus reports zero deaths, sets 11 vaccine clinics

Stanislaus County reported no deaths to COVID-19 and 239 positive tests over the three days ending Monday.

The death toll remains at 1,452 residents since the first was announced in April 2020, the Health Services Agency said.

Stanislaus has a total of 82,651 positive tests, 1,048,600 negative test results and 79,942 people who are presumed recovered.

Other details:

Hospital cases: The county’s five hospitals had 78 patients with confirmed COVID-19 on Monday, down from 80 on Friday. Adults in intensive care dropped by one to 23.

Vaccines: As of Monday, 83.4% of eligible county residents (5 and older) had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 58.8% were fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The county has public vaccine clinics that each offer all three types: Pfizer (5 and older), Moderna (18+) and Johnson & Johnson (18+). The schedule through Dec. 18:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 15: Ceres: Mae Hensley Junior High School cafeteria, 1806 Moffet Road, 3-6 p.m.

  • Thursday, Dec. 16, Modesto: Public Health Immunization Clinic, 401 Paradise Road, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Friday, Dec. 17, Modesto: Public Health Immunization Clinic, 401 Paradise Road, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Saturday, Dec. 18, Modesto: Public Health Immunization Clinic, 401 Paradise Road, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Dec. 21, Modesto: Public Health Immunization Clinic, 401 Paradise Road, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

California has administered 62,687,689 vaccine doses as of Monday, according to the Centers for Disease for Control and Prevention. The state ranks 12th in the country, with 158,654 doses per 100,000 residents. Vermont ranks first, Idaho 50th among the states.

It’s important to note that if you’ve had part or full vaccination, wearing a mask and keeping with all the safety precautions like social distancing in some circumstances is still recommended by the CDC. Also, those who have had COVID-19 still need to be vaccinated.

Case demographics: Here are the breakdowns of the positive tests in Stanislaus County as of Monday:

  • 53% are female
  • 47% male
  • 11.8% are 14 years or younger
  • 16.3% are ages 15 to 24
  • 18.7% are 25 to 34
  • 16.9% are 35 to 44
  • 14.1% are 45 to 54
  • 11.4% are 55 to 64
  • 6.1% are 65 to 74
  • 3.1% are 75 to 84
  • 1.6% are 85 or older
  • Latinos are 49.5% of the positive cases, whites are 32%, Asians are 4.2%, Blacks are 2.4%, and the rest are other groups.

  • Ceres has 8,320
  • Riverbank has 3,841
  • Patterson has 3,469
  • Oakdale has 2,941

As of Monday evening, there were 5,146,771 confirmed cases in California and 75,178 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. There were 50,115,334 U.S. cases and 798,682 deaths.
