10th confirmed coronavirus case in Stanislaus. Recent patients are 3 men, 2 women
The ninth and tenth confirmed cases of novel coronavirus COVID-19 in Stanislaus County were reported Monday. The news comes after three new cases were reported Sunday.
The county Health Services Agency said only that the sixth and seventh patients are adult females, and the eighth through tenth are adult males. The tenth case was contracted through household contact with a previously confirmed case. It still was working to confirm if the other new cases are community spread or involved known contact with other coronavirus patients.
There remain zero known coronavirus-related deaths in Stanislaus County.
Of the cases known in the county, “Five have been hospitalized and five have not been hospitalized.,” Dr. Julie Vaishampayan, Stanislaus County Public Health Officer, said in an update posted on the StanEmergency Facebook page Monday afternoon. “Two are travel-related. Two are close contacts to a community case. and six are called community spread.”
According to the San Joaquin County website on Monday, there are 45 confirmed cases there — up from 34 the day before — and two deaths.
Merced County on Sunday reported its first confirmed case. “The positive case is travel-related and was not acquired through community spread,” according to a news release. “The individual is doing well and is isolating and recovering at home.”
Thirty-seven people have been tested in Merced County, with 28 testing negative and results pending on the other eight.
Tuolumne County Public Health’s most recent update says it has no confirmed cases. Seventy-eight people have been tested, with 63 testing negative and results pending on 15. It noted that the numbers include only those routed through Public Health to its laboratory, not any routed through a commercial laboratory.
In Mariposa, there have been no reported positive cases. There have been 22 people tested, with 10 negative results and 12 pending.
In the latest update on its Facebook page, on Sunday afternoon, the California Department of Public Health said there have been 1,468 cases of COVID-19 in the state, and 27 deaths. Of the positive cases, 24 are from federal repatriation flights. Of the remaining 1,444 cases, 113 are travel-releated, 145 are person-to-person, 408 are community acquired and 778 remain under investigation.
