Barbie and Hello Kitty tour trucks stopping in Modesto with exclusive merch
Two pop culture icons have trucks that tour the U.S. selling merchandise that can only be purchased at pop-up events: Hello Kitty and Barbie. Both are making stops in Modesto this summer.
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck made its first appearance in Modesto in September at Vintage Faire Mall. It’s coming back in August.
June will mark the first time the Barbie Truck Tour has stopped in Stanislaus County.

Hello Kitty Cafe truck returning to Modesto
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is coming back to Vintage Faire Mall on Saturday, Aug. 29, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. It will be parked in the courtyard near Macy’s and Sephora.
From what the website shows, the café menu and merchandise sold will be the same as the truck’s last visit.
The first Hello Kitty Truck was launched in 2014. It is still celebrating its 10th anniversary by selling these special-edition items:
- 10th anniversary pin, $18
- 10th anniversary cup keychain, $18
- 10th anniversary glass mug, $25
- 10th anniversary glass tumbler, $35
- 10th anniversary 18-ounce thermal bottle, $39
- 10th anniversary 32-ounce thermal bottle, $47
- 10th anniversary Hello Kitty plush, $40
- 10th anniversary sweater, $65
Also still being celebrated is the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty. A 50th anniversary patch set will be sold for $20.
Other merchandise items include a ceramic mug for $22, a cold-cup ornament for $15 and a container shop shirt for $30.

All items are subject to availability and while supplies last, according to the truck’s website. The truck accepts only credit/debit cards for payment.
Barbie Truck Tour makes first Stanislaus County stop
The Barbie Truck Tour launched in 2021 with a 1990s-themed Total Throwback Tour.
The themes change each tour, and the current one is Barbie Sports Club Tour. Merchandise includes “sporty style items, game-changing accessories and life-on-the-go products,” according to the website.
Barbie Sports Club merchandise is available only in person at the tour stops.
The closest the Barbie Truck Tour has been to Stanislaus County was at Stockton’s Weberstown Mall in March 2024. It’s coming to Vintage Faire Mall on Saturday, June 6, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
