These Modesto, Valley restaurants are open for pickup, delivery during coronavirus crisis
While you can’t sit down to eat at Modesto or Central Valley restaurants because of the ongoing coronavirus crisis, most will still happily make you a meal to enjoy at home.
Restaurants, one of the hardest hit local industries by the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent shutdowns, have switched to pickup and delivery only across Stanislaus County and beyond. While some have shuttered altogether, many are trying to stay afloat by letting customers order in-person, over the phone or online.
Those who have switched are offering a variety of options, from their full menu to meal kits and even uncooked meat and produce items. Statewide restrictions have been loosened on selling alcohol for establishments that also serve food — allowing for to-go beer, wine and mixed drink orders when placing meal orders.
Most national chains, including those with local franchise owners, have also remained open including the vast majority of fast-food restaurants. All of the major app-based delivery services like DoorDash, Grubhub, Postmates and Uber Eats have also expanded their delivery services locally.
Many grocery chains are also still selling and serving prepared take-away food. And a lot of those same supermarkets and other essential retail stores have added senior shopping programs to help the most at-risk gather supplies.
A look at which restaurants are open for orders currently in the county and beyond. Hours and availability vary, so check or call ahead for best results. In April, Stanislaus County public health issued an order switching to all curbside pickup or delivery. This list will be updated regularly with community recommendations and closures.
